Jeff Ashworth is a seasoned content executive, editorial leader, and bestselling author.
Most recently, he served as Chief Content Officer at Topix Media Lab, where he directed the creation of 50–100 print titles annually, collaborating with brands such as LEGO, Disney, DreamWorks, Hasbro, Nickelodeon, Pokémon, and Scholastic. Under his leadership, Media Lab Books was recognized as one of the Top 5 Fastest Growing Independent Publishers by Publisher’s Weekly (2021–2024). His expertise in content strategy, editorial leadership, and brand storytelling ensured that each project aligned seamlessly with corporate and creative goals. He doesn’t believe in astrology but is open to using it as a tool for self-examination, which he has recently learned is typical of Libras.
Before stepping into executive leadership, Ashworth was Editor-in-Chief at Topix Media Lab, managing a team of writers and designers in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. He played a pivotal role in shaping original books and magazines, refining manuscripts at every level, and maintaining the highest editorial standards. His work has reached a vast audience, with the Game Master series of Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition supplements selling more than 800,000 copies. His editorial work has earned Parent’s Choice Awards and Mom’s Choice Awards, as well as the accolades of his mostly unbiased mother.
Previously, Ashworth was the first-ever Digital Writer at World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), where he collaborated directly with WWE’s CEO and Executive Producer to pioneer social media integration for live broadcasts. His innovative contributions helped define WWE’s “Reality Era,” and he spent most of his time elevating established storylines, producing online video content, and working closely with top talent, including The Rock, John Cena, and Cody Rhodes, to enhance their digital presence. He also honed his ability to protect trade secrets, never once revealing that the outcomes of many of the company’s televised matches are predetermined.
With a background in content strategy, creative direction, and brand development, Jeff Ashworth brings a unique ability to cut through complexity and help brands find their voice in competitive markets. His expertise spans editorial leadership, video production, art direction, licensed publishing, influencer partnerships, and data-driven storytelling. He also makes a mean old fashioned.
He holds a B.A. in Humanities from Wofford College and is based in Richmond, Virginia.
